Election' 26's Simple Choices: Anarchy or Sanity

The 2026 midterm election will be a choice between sanity and anarchy.

On the sanity side are those who support policies that have closed the border, lowered crime and inflation, and brought steady improvement to an economy that appears poised for further expansion.

There is reason to believe that advances like this will continue, as long as Republicans remain the majority in Congress.

Conversely, if Democrats regain control, they have already promised to focus on investigations of U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration ‒ just as they did four years ago when they were in control of the U.S. House.

Unless you have Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS), you would probably agree that those investigations did nothing to improve your life or the lives of your family.

All they truly accomplished was distracting from real issues, while further tearing a divided nation apart.

I've heard people say that they support President Trump, but they don't care much for Republicans in Congress.

It's not so much that they like Democrats, they are merely stating that they are not super-motivated to go out and vote when the president is not on the ballot.

This is potentially a problem leading into the midterms because the extreme wing of the Democratic party is very motivated. If Trump supporters don't vote, this will give Democrats an opportunity to take the majority.

If you really think about it, other than the hate that Democrats have for our nation's 47th commander in chief, their only real campaign issue this year will be to attempt to convince voters that Trump has not fixed affordability problems quickly enough.

Ironically, these are the very problems that they helped create during the Biden presidency.

This doesn't seem like a winning argument, and this writer is confident that it won't be if people get out and vote to support the accomplishments of the last 14 months.

Here are a few of those accomplishments:

The Economy – Despite Democrats causing the longest government shutdown in history late last year, the economy continues to grow at an impressive pace.

The latest example of this was shown in the January jobs report, stating that 130,000 new jobs were created, which was far more than expected.

Additionally, January inflation slowed to 2.4%, not far from the FED target rate of 2%.

On top of that, President Trump has secured the commitment of trillions of dollars in both domestic and foreign investments that will lead to jobs in the United States.

Although Americans are still hurting from the pain inflicted during the Biden years, these are very good signs that recovery for all is on the way. Closed Border and Deportation of Illegal Criminals – Although Joe Biden said he could not close the border without more money from Congress, PresidentTrump was able to assume office and immediately close the border absent need of any congressional help.

He has also followed through on his promise to deport illegal criminals with the support of congressional Republicans.

Although this has not been a perfect effort, his main critics are Congressional Democrats who do not have much of an argument to win over people who think.

Democrats who are now trying to demonize ICE as the enemy of the people are the same Democrats who refused to stand last year when President Trump recognized American citizens who died at the hands of illegal aliens.

They want us to believe that criminals are not the problem, but that law enforcement is.

Good luck with that!

Crime President Trump, with the support of Republicans, set in place policies that reduced overall crime and brought about the largest year-over-year reduction in homicides ever recorded.

The president also took the war on drugs to the cartels, causing a significant negative impact to their operations as main suppliers of illegal drugs. Social Security Although the Federal Old-Age and Survivors Insurance Trust Fund (OASI) is predicted to run out of money in 2032, President Trump has consistently pledged to protect retirees, a pledge he repeated to me personally when I met with him a few months ago.

Whatever your feelings are regarding the president, he is known to be a man of his word.

However, to shore up the Trust Fund, President Trump will need a Congress that wants to work with him, not one that wants to investigate and impeach him.

For seniors dependent on Social Security, I believe the key to protecting your retirement comes down to getting out to vote for Republican candidates in the upcoming midterm election.

We spent four years going backwards in every imaginable way during the Biden years.

Although not every problem has been fixed, President Trump has the ship turned around and headed in the right direction.

If we want to see prosperity, we need to stick with this president and make sure that he has the necessary support from the next Congress.

Please get out this year and vote for candidates who support President Trump.
