Rep. Beth Van Duyne, R-Texas, reacted on Newsmax to the notion of Republicans infighting over Rep. Mike Johnson, R-La., as House speaker.
"Of course, it's not helpful," Van Duyne told "The Count" on Saturday regarding Republican disagreement over Johnson during the Biden administration. "Nobody wants to see a repeat of how we started last year out with another, you know, with another fight amongst ourselves."
"I think we've got a lot to do for the American people," the congresswoman continued. Van Duyne then added that, as opposed to Republicans fighting about Johnson, Congress should be focused on passing fair tax legislation, cutting the $36 trillion in debt, and "slashing" government spending.
"Those are all things that all of us should be able to get aboard on. [We] have a lot of work to do, and I am focused on getting those things done for our constituents. And I would hope that the majority of Congress, not all Republicans, are also on the train with me."
