Turning Point to Newsmax: Kirk's Death 'Cannot Kill the Message'

Turning Point USA employees "still have heavy hearts" following the murder of the organization's co-founder, Charlie Kirk, during an event in Utah last week, but they have vowed not to let Kirk's death "kill the message" he spread, two members of the organization told Newsmax on Monday.

Morgonn McMichael, a Turning Point USA contributor, and Jaden Heard, podcaster and former Turning Point USA chapter president at Auburn University, told "National Report" in a joint interview that the organization's work will continue in the wake of Kirk's murder.

McMichael said employees at the organization "still have heavy hearts, but glorifying God through it all. And I think that's something that is so beautiful that we've seen at these vigils, not just across our country, but internationally, is seeing the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people gathering together to continue to shed light on just this heinous act."

She added that Kirk's message lives on: "They can assassinate the messenger, but they cannot kill the message. If each and every one of us continue to spread that message ... and I know that is what we are doing at Turning Point USA every single day."

McMichael added that the group has received "over 32,000 requests to have chapters in this nation," which she described as "a ground-shaking movement."

Heard said these additional chapter requests are a strong sign of upcoming change on college campuses.

"What the enemy meant for evil, God is going to turn for good because we're seeing so many Charlie Kirks now being birthed from this situation."

He added, "And what you've done is you've created a bunch of Charlie Kirks. … Not only did he bring a message of conservatism, but he was openly a Christian and he proclaimed the gospel everywhere he went. And it's really important for us students, if I may speak to them, is that we really carry on this mission of making sure that we're sober minded, that we are bold in our faith, that we're standing on ground, standing on the firm foundation that Christ has set for us."
