Elon Musk shot down “wrong-headed economic thinking” on X, saying there’s “infinite potential” for job creation, the New York Post reports. “Think of all the things that didn’t exist 20 or 30 years ago!”
Musk’s comment came in a back-and-forth with Palantir founder and venture capitalist Joe Lonsdale and his positive remarks on Sriram Krishnan, who Donald Trump has picked to be White House senior policy adviser for artificial intelligence.
David Sacks, Trump’s pick for White House AI and cryptocurrency czar, also threw his support behind Krishnan.
Musk, Lonsdale, Krishnan and Sacks are all bullish on the future of AI, American jobs, and legal immigrants’ role in developing American-made artificial intelligence.
Krishnan advocated the Trump administration to seek out immigrants steeped in AI knowledge, posting on X: “Anything to remove country caps for green cards / unlock skilled immigration would be huge.”
Sacks concurred, writing, “Sriram still supports skills-based criteria for receiving a green card, not making the program unlimited. In fact, he wants to make the program entirely merit-based.”
Trump also weighed in, writing on Truth Social, “Working closely with David Sacks, Sriram will focus on ensuring continued American leadership in AI, and help shape and coordinate AI policy across Government, including working with the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.”
“The ‘fixed pie’ fallacy is at the heart of much wrong-headed economic thinking,” Musk quipped.
