Over 7,400 illegal immigrants have been arrested in the U.S. over the last nine days under President Donald Trump, reports Fox News.

Since taking office on Jan. 20, Trump issued an array of executive orders to crack down on illegal immigration, including actions aimed at deporting record numbers of migrants in the U.S. without legal status.

As of Jan. 31, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement has arrested 7,412 people, the agency said Saturday in a post on X.

The criminal histories of those deported have not been published yet but Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth on Friday said that the "worst of the worst" criminal migrants will be temporarily housed at Guantanamo Bay detention camp and that "all options will be on the table" for military action against the cartels

Trump two days earlier said he would be instructing the Pentagon to prepare Guantanamo Bay to detain 30,000 "criminal illegal aliens."

"Today I'm also signing an executive order to instruct the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security to begin preparing the 30,000-person migrant facility at Guantanamo Bay," Trump said. "Most people don't even know about it."

Immigration raids have been carried out in New York City, Boston, and Chicago.

ICE said one of the people arrested was Jose Ortega Ramirez, who was charged with child pornography and drug possession; and Seyidxan Hisen Salih, who faces assault, drug and burglary charges.
