New Video Shows Possible Chinese Stealth Jet

New video shows what appears to be a new Chinese advanced stealth fighter flying for the first time, which could be a big step forward for Beijing’s air force, reports Axios.

The report comes less than a week after the Pentagon said China’s Air Force was improving quickly.

The PLAAF “with respect to its modernization and indigenization of its unmanned aerial systems, is quickly approaching U.S. standards,” a senior Pentagon official told reporters in a background briefing ahead of the report’s release.

The report specifically noted “the routine appearance of increasingly sophisticated systems across theater and echelon levels.”

China has been modernizing all aspects of its military. Footage circulating Thursday showed a triangular aircraft similar to America’s retired F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighter, reports Business Insider.

A two-seat Chendu J-20S fighter followed closely behind.

The flight reportedly took place over Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, and is thought to have been conducted by the Chengdu Aerospace Corporation (CAC).
