Marines arriving at the southern border shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone because President Donald Trump “is a man of his word,” says Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga.
“I don't know why everybody is surprised about this. You know, the media is saying, ‘oh my God, can you believe he did this?’ He told you he was going to do it,” Carter said Friday during an appearance on Newsmax's “The Chris Salcedo Show.”
“You know, if we know anything about Donald Trump at all, it is that if he thinks he's going to do something, he'll do it and he's doing it.
“He said, ‘I'm going to secure that border,’ and he has secured it. The number of people coming across that border now is down drastically. He said, I'm going to repatriate those people who are here illegally. I'm going to send them back. He's doing it. Except for those who just decided, hey, I'm going to go ahead and get back because he's going to get me before it's all over with anyway. Yeah. Those people, they've already gone back. But Donald Trump is a man of his word. He said he was going to do this and he's doing it.”
The White House on Friday said the Marine Corps was on the border “assisting with the mission to secure America.”
The post, on X, included footage of armored trucks, Humvee vehicles and helicopters next to the wall.
