Let's Stop Acting as if Life Doesn't Matter

"I've noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born." – Ronald Reagan (1911-2004)

There isn't anything more precious than life.

I'm a supreme optimist; but even if you're a depressed pessimist, this overarching bit of wisdom should prevail, should control your thinking.

As a boy, I remember the joys of riding my bike with a baseball card clicking in the spokes, mustering up the courage to take that first step off the 30-foot high dive, seeing the T-Rex at New York City's Museum of Natural History. I remember the way my dad laughed when telling stories and the preternatural smell of my mom's perfume.

My psyche is crammed full with so many great experiences of my time as a teenager, adolescent, adult, middle-aged adult, and now senior citizen that the Library of Congress would be bursting.

Life is not all about the good times, however.

Things that bring fullness to a person's life also include sadness, loss, tragedy, and all the times we're not soaring with the happiness of angels.

The balance of the happy and sad are what makes life so amazing.

Sometimes, we can overcome the sadness or tragedies, while other times we can't.

But when we do overcome them, they transmogrify into successes of true, hard-fought happiness. How great is that?

Not all people feel as I do, I'm aware. But a good many, I suspect, do.

For those tired of life and all its blessings, well, I'm scratching my head. But only to a point.

People tired of life or completely ignorant of its beauty, sadness, and triumph are not only typically isolated and miserable but also can be a threat to themselves or others. I can't do anything about suicide, but I would do something about the chance they might hurt others.

We have to find a way to identify these sick people who might be responsible for mass shootings, murders, assaults, and any other attacks that hurt others. Doctors in the psychiatric world tell us they can do this and all the government has to do is let them.

But I digress.

When I say these same people hurt others, I'm also referring to people who would say, "He's in his 90s. Just let him go; let him die." We have the do not resuscitate (DNR) process, which I abhor; it's been governmentally regulated, so humans are regularly "allowed to die" (be killed).

The real way the despondent people who detest living and life itself show their reprehension for those living their lives is abortion.

They continually tell pregnant women there are no other options at Planned Parenthood dens of infant death.

They refuse to show them ultrasounds of the priceless life dwelling inside them. They encourage their fear and flight complexes until they kill their unborn babies.

Is there anything we can think of that will lead to the end of America, the end of the human race faster or with more pain and suffering than abortion?

I've caught two baby girls in my life and can powerfully testify those were the two moments I will remember so clearly, with such vividness until the day I die.

The people who promote, provide, support, or find the killing of babies a matter of convenience or a mother's "control over her body," have either never caught a child of their or have horribly lost their way to an undoubtedly godless termination of their own lives.

A 16-year old girl has to continue on and finish high school, they say. It's all about convenience, they proselytize.

A woman just sitting for the bar exam can't derail her ambitions for an incomparable infant?

Or a woman who is just hitting the promoting and money-earning years of her career thinks a baby would be inconvenient?

Any of these women could put the baby up for adoption. There are so many couples waiting for a baby that they're going to China or Romania.

But the selfishness of abortion has these pregnant lost souls looking for the convenient and painless way out for them.

Abortion is never painless or convenient. It's something that can haunt a woman for the rest of her life like Marley's ghosts.

The pain of a botched or even "routine" abortion can be incalculable, I've been told. So rule out the painless promise.

And the convenience of this evil deed can settle inside a woman's mind and gnaw. Even if she has other surviving children, it festers.

Women, if you're pregnant with all the promise and unlimited possibilities of a new human life, please don't make that life-and-death decision by yourself or with the evil, greedy "assistance" of an abortion clinic.

More likely than not, you will be a tortured soul for the remainder of your days.

"It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish." - Mother Teresa (1910-1997)
