“May we as Americans never forget the power of prayer and the greatness of our Creator.”
Former President Donald J. Trump (1946- )
As President Trump has said for years, “They’re not after me, they’re after you … I’m just in their way.”
And, Trump loyalists like me and millions of other Americans took that to heart, somehow knowing it was true, trusting in the man’s veracity.
I’ve said many times, to many different people, “I would take a bullet for that man, no questions asked. If he told me to take a hill, I would take it instantaneously … and wouldn’t care why.”
This is the kind of commitment that the people who are part of the MAGA movement made with this unexpectedly strong man and his vision for the broadbrush return of America to its former greatness.
There’s no question that President Trump is authentic in his vision, tactics and goals. I know, I’ve interviewed him a number of times over the last couple of years. (My articles with the president are here, here, here, and here.)
He truly cares about the people of this country, and this is something to which no other mere, less-than-honorable, politician can lay claim.
For Trump supporters, his campaign rallies are unique, fun and give a feeling that cannot be obtained anywhere else.
Don’t listen to the lying media; a Trump rally is not filled with toothless hillbilly racists hating on others — although, plain old toothless hillbillies who love this country are most welcome.
Quite the contrary, Trump rallies are filled with the most stellar people this side of Mayberry. Kids playing, Moms watching them, Dads getting food, merch and, most of all, recently, water for their families. People smiling at each other for no good reason and the spontaneous conversations about how We the People love America.
Some wealthy people, some upper-middle class, some middle, some blue collar, anybody is welcome.
Welcome as long as they love America and respect our anthem, pledge and a benediction.
In my first Trump rally, one of the earliest ever held, I remember being so grateful that it was the first place I had ever done all three: sung the Star-Spangled Banner, said the Pledge of Allegiance and had a real God and Jesus-filled benediction. I liked that a lot.
There are never any fights (that I’ve seen) at a Trump rally. It just doesn’t happen. Even Hillary-Obama-Biden voters are welcome and listened to with interest. Respect and love are the order of the day at these America love-fests.
So, when 100,000 people froze in the exact moment gunshots rang out this past Saturday, few moved, few ducked, all seemed transfixed with laser-like focus on our leader. That’s all we cared about. It was an astonishing thing to witness.
When he rose, surrounded by his protective detail, and struggled through the 1,500 pounds of men and women protecting him, to raise his fist, mouth the words, “Fight! Fight! Fight!” and walk on his own two feet to the motorcade, we all knew he would be back to fight the spiritual war we’re fighting against unspeakable evil in America.
And in those moments that followed, it dawned on most of us, that finally, President Trump had taken a bullet for us. He shed his blood to Make America Great Again.
He had fulfilled his promise to us, just as he fulfilled all his previous promises.
Now, I think, the majority of America is ready to take a bullet for this man, this superb leader.
“We will not give up; we will not give in and we will not back down,” as Trump classically begins the conclusion to his oratories. This is the Trump mentality that is so infectious; his refusal to stop fighting, his relentlessness is transferable.
It also dawned on the good citizens of this country that something very singular had happened to save the life and legacy of Donald J. Trump: the hand of God and the eyes of Jesus had saved him. Our God and Savior had saved this man so that America itself might be saved.
Our opponents can never overcome this heavenly advantage bestowed upon us by God Almighty. This is why we must be prepared for a spiritual war, which can’t be lost.
“We acknowledge our dependence on God’s love to guide our families, communities and our country away from harm and towards abundance and peace.”
