Lawfare, prophesying, and the nexus between the White House and American industry all are fodder for this week's Newsmax Rising Bestsellers. The unprecedented use of the courts to prosecute Donald Trump, ancient writings may have accurately described the world's current events, the depiction of the "wild world" of the current president's son, and an unhealthy alliance between the White House and big business all are examined. There is also a murder mystery for fiction lovers.

"The Lucky Chip: A Psychological Thriller of Betrayal and Murder in The City of Sin," by D.J. Ciccarello (D.J. Ciccarello)

In this novel, which weaves the past with the present, a young man down on his luck believes that a discarded poker chip he found in his Las Vegas hotel room may be a lucky sign — a new start in life. With it, he vows to leave behind a past distinguished by addiction, unemployment, and depression, and win back the love of his wife. But he soon recognizes the chip's connection with a mob boss from 60 years earlier, as his own life spins further out of control. "This book was so good," wrote Jennifer Abbey for GoodReads. "The twists and turns were just right, and I loved how the story transitioned from the past to the present. It all wove together so nicely. It's been a while since I could actually say to myself, when finishing a book, "and the moral of the story is.." but this actually made me do that and it was great!" [Fiction]

"Dangerous Injustice: How Democrats Weaponized DOJ to Protect Biden and Persecute Trump," by Joseph B. Sweeney (Real Clear Publishing)

A veteran CIA lawyer opens up about the politics behind the way in which the federal government handled classified documents possessed by the last two presidents. Trump was prosecuted, even though he arguably had every right to have the documents. Biden was all but ignored, although the items he held onto were acquired while he was a senator and vice president, and his items were stored haphazardly. The only difference, according to Joseph Sweeney, was that Trump is a Republican, and Biden is a Democrat, resulting in "A Dangerous Injustice." "This is definitely a book that people should read, to truly understand the scope and depth of the corruption in our government, and how a politically motivated witch hunt can lead to entirely different outcomes and consequences," said Carolyn Wyman in her GoodReads review. "This is definitely an eye-opening book." [Nonfiction]

"The Dragon's Prophecy: Israel, the Dark Resurrection, and the End of Days," by Jonathan Cahn (Frontline)

Messianic Jewish rabbi and pastor Jonathan Cahn submits that a 3,000-year-old mystery may have actually foretold the Oct. 7, 2023, terror attack on Israel by Hamas, down to the year, month and day. He believes that that mystery, plus other ancient writings including the Book of Revelation, can both answer some of today's questions and make accurate predictions about the future. The author promises to open readers' eyes, change the way we see world events, and ultimately blow our minds. "He writes as good as he preaches," wrote Tammy Enyart for Amazon. "The Lord moving through the Jubilees that Jonathan talks about is mind blowing. I was so fascinated by the works, wisdom, and power of the Lord. I felt like my heart was doing a happy dance in my chest. I highly recommend this book. You will not regret reading it." [Nonfiction]

"Out of the Shadows: My Life Inside the Wild World of Hunter Biden," by Lunden Roberts (Skyhorse)

In this memoir, Lunden Roberts finally tells the story of her roller-coaster ride with the son of the then-vice president of the United States — a relationship that resulted in a granddaughter that a president and first lady refused to acknowledge. She describes the chaotic relationship she had with Hunter Biden, the broken trust she had in him, and how the love she had for the now-president's son was replaced with a deeper love for their daughter, Navy. "Lunden is finally ready to step into the light and tell her story," wrote commentator/author Mark Levin of a book he filed under "required reading." "In her brave and honest memoir, she recounts the chaos, the broken trust, and ultimately the incredible love she found mothering and protecting the long-unacknowledged grandchild of the sitting President of the United States." [Nonfiction]

"The Power and the Money: The Epic Clashes Between Commanders in Chief and Titans of Industry," by Tevi Troy (Regnery History)

The president and industrial giants have something of a symbiotic relationship. Company CEOs sometimes turn to the president to help then navigate their way through the labyrinth of federal statutes and regulations. Commanders-in-chief may turn to industrial leaders for policy approval and campaign donations. But as presidential historian Tevi Troy illustrates in "The Power and the Money," this can be a tenuous relationship, often turning adversarial. "Tevi Troy is a national treasure. A presidential historian and former White House aide, every few years he emerges out of nowhere with yet another book on an as yet unexplored area of presidential history," wrote Mark Anthony for RealClearMarkets. "It's a disturbing message in the midst of a fascinating read. I'm looking forward to seeing what aspect of the presidency Troy covers next. 'The Power and the Money' is a must-read in the interim."
