Pelosi Claims Speaker's Gavel, Refuses to Protect America

Just as she was taking the oath of office as Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi declared to The New York Times that the Constitution says she is his equal. An equal rights amendment to the Constitution was never ratified and was given an unprecedented 7-plus extra years to be ratified but failed to be ratified by enough states.

There is a significant difference between the job as Speaker of the House and the president — perhaps we need to go back to Constitution 101. In a recent Rasmussen Report, 73 percent of registered voters polled indicated that they did not think most Americans understand how the government works and an additional 12 percent were unsure.

I wonder if Nancy is one of those. You see, the people elect the president and he or she is the head of the executive branch of the government.

Another part of the government is the legislative branch made up of the House of Representatives and the Senate. The leadership is not elected like the president, but by the elected officials. Unlike the Executive Branch, there is no one elected leader in charge of the legislative branch. If the people do not elect the Speaker, how can the Speaker be the equal of the sitting president? For the Speaker to become president, both the president and the vice-president must be dead or resigned.

According to a Rasmussen poll of January 2019, American voters don’t like her, and her actions may endear her to her base, but she has angered a good percentage of Americans in general.

It seems the deeper the Democrats resist the higher the favorability rating for the wall increases. An ABC Poll released on January 14, 2019, is showing a dramatic increase in support.

What is happening is that America is turning in favor of the president's position while disagreeing with Democrats.

Nancy Pelosi says that the wall is "immoral."

The wall is an inanimate object and is no more immoral than a mountain. It can’t make decisions of right or wrong, but perhaps people who would want unencumbered access to the United States, who want to eliminate ICE and border security, are the immoral objects. When more people die from overdoses of illegal drugs crossing the border from a foreign country than are killed on American highways perhaps there should be a new paradigm, protect America first — wait a moment, are those the words Speaker Pelosi spoke when she was sworn in as a member of Congress?
