Before there was an attack in Amsterdam, before the worst day of Jewish murder since the Holocaust (October 7th), before COVID and before George Floyd and Black Lives Matter, Jews should have seen the signs of the Democratic Party abandoning them.
On November 5th, America spoke. Hispanics elected President Donald J. Trump, a majority in both the Senate and House of Representatives, more Republican Governors and state level officials.
Hispanics voted 46% for the America First agenda. Kamala Harris appears to have won 80% of the Black vote, according to an exit poll by The Associated Press. While that seems low, that’s a drop of 10 percentage points compared with 2020 when the current president, Joe Biden, won nine of 10 Black votes.
Trump and the down ballot candidates even won over the young and women voters.
There was no identity politics to this election cycle. It was voting for common sense, closed borders and cheaper eggs, insurance and clothes. It wasn’t about lectures by entertainers whose movies we don’t watch and lyrics we don’t karaoke to.
What Happened to the Jewish Vote?
As of the publishing of this article, the Democrat ticket of Harris-Walz received 76%-77% of the Jewish vote.
Jewish activists, public figures, even family members of current hostages in Gaza and murdered American and Israeli Jews on October 7th endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.
There is no way to “sugarcoat” any Jewish vote GOP gains, despite some polls suggesting little pockets of success.
In New York, Donald Trump received a record 45% of the vote. However, the Republican party lost three congressional seats, several assembly seats and the proposition that gives the state the right for the government to have more rights than parents in guiding the sexual orientation of minors. The Equal Rights Amendment, or Prop 1, is a sweeping state constitutional amendment to ban discrimination on reproductive healthcare and other categories such as sexual orientation, national origin and age.
If there is one promising example of Jewish Republican success, it is that we saw in the swing states of Florida, Nevada, Arizona and Pennsylvania more Jews helping Donald Trump sweep those key races.
It should have helped Sam Brown and Kari Lake down the ballot.
As “The Jewess Patriot,” involved in three Trump campaigns, I am frustrated. How can anyone posting on social media about their concerns about antisemitism continue to vote for any candidate that remains silent on “The Squad” or compares Islamophobia to Antisemitism?
While Vice President Harris allowed surrogates to speak out about more support for Palestinians that support radical Islamic terrorism, like Bernie Sanders, Donald Trump’s surrogates had no problem discussing changes in Middle East policy. Trump received major Arab American endorsements and inDearborn, where nearly half of the 110,000 residents are of Arab descent, Vice President Kamala Harris received over 2,500 fewer votes than Trump, who became the first Republican presidential candidate since former President George W. Bush in 2000 to win the city.
Jewish MAGA Moving Forward
Jews are going to benefit greatly from a Trump 47 administration. In just one week, the recent nominations of key Israeli allies prove it.
World leaders have expressed interest in collaborating in peace efforts and several Arab countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar are backing away from hosting Hamas.
Lawsuits by Democrats, Independents and Republicans using the Executive Order to Combat Antisemitism are still being litigated by college students, and with a Trump administration will probably have positive outcomes.
Now is the perfect time to build a permanent Jewish Voice in the GOP.
Things I said this before that must no longer be ignored:
- Do NOT separate the Jewish vote. Focusing on the Orthodox Jewish vote should be only part of a marketing strategy. They are a minority of Jews in smaller pockets of some states. Not every Orthodox Jew votes red down ballot and not every Reform or Conservative Jew votes blue down ballot. Focus on Jews as one group.
- American Jews are like American Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Arabs and other minority groups. Focus on the cost of food, energy and luxuries. Focus on education reform and healthcare and safety walking to religious institutions and restaurants.
- Focus on 50 states. And start grassroots education today, not two months before elections.
I benefited greatly from Trump 45 and worked hard to Make America Great Again for Jews and all Americans. MAGA needs the Jews and Jews need MAGA.
