With Voter Support, Trump Moves Forward With His Agenda

After losing the election in November, the Democrats devised a game plan to stop the implementation of President Donald Trump’s agenda. Since Democrats no longer controlled Congress or the White House, they decided to focus on the judiciary.

Consequently, 23 Democratic attorneys general decided to meet daily fora 30-minute confidential video chat to coordinate their plans for pushing back against the Trump administration.

The coordinated resistance was joined by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and other left-wing organizations. The result has been unprecedented success in the federal courts.

For Democratic Party resistance, it helps that President Joe Biden appointed 228 judges to the federal courts, the most for a four-year period since the administration of President Jimmy Carter. Overall, 60% of active federal district court judges have been appointed by Democrats in the presidency.

Thus, it has been easy for opponents of Trump’s agenda to find sympathetic judges. Of the 30 judges who have either partially or fully blocked Trump executive actions, 26 have been appointed by a Democratic president.

The most infamous case involved Judge James Boasberg, a federal district court judge appointed by President Barack Obama, whoissued a temporary restraining order halting the Trump administration's use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelans that the White House insists are part of a gang.”

Sadly, President Trump was given another judicial setback last weekend at the Supreme Court level. His administration’s plan to use the Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelan gang members waspausedby the Supreme Court, which had previously issued anarrow and focuseddecision lifting the order from Judge Boasberg blocking the deportations.

In its latest decision, the Supreme Court directed the Trump administrationnot to remove any member of the putative class of detainees from the United States until further order of this Court.Theputative classrefers to individuals the Trump administration claims are members of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.

The ruling was issued late at night in response to a hurried appeal filed by the ACLU on behalf of the suspected Venezuelan gang members. Supreme Court Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas strongly opposed the 7-2 decision.

Along with battling Trump in the courts, Democrats are continuing to count on their friends in the media to provide sympathetic coverage of their activities. On Sunday, multiple networks featured U.S. Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., who travelled to El Salvador to have a highly publicized lunch with Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a suspected MS-13 gang member who previously was living in his state.

Other Democrats want to visit Abrego Garcia and advocate for his release. This strategy is part of the Democratic Party’s plan to oppose the Trump administration on every issue, including popular ones like deporting illegal aliens.

CNN data analyst Harry Enten recently delivered the unwelcome news for Democrats. He noted that 56% of Americans are in favor of deportingeveryillegal immigrant in the country. What is significant about this finding is that Americans want all illegal immigrants removed from the country, not just foreign gang members.

This is a substantial change from previous polls. In 2016, Enten noted that only 38% of Americans wanted to deport all illegal immigrants. He said,The American people have come a long way on this issue, much closer to Donald Trump, and I think that’s a big part of the reason why Americans are increasingly saying the country is on the right track when it comes to immigration policy.”

As Democrats continue to advocate for suspected foreign gang members, claiming that theirrightsare being denied, most Americans are not supporting this radical agenda. Enten showed that in December of 2024, the last month of Biden’s disastrous presidency, only 14% of Americans said the country was on theright track.Today, 45% of Americans feel the country is on theright trackunder President Trump.

While there is plenty for this administration to address in the months ahead to undo the horrendous policies of Joe Biden, the president has already made tremendous progress on the crucial issue of border security.

Illegal crossings at the United States/Mexico border dropped to only 7,000 in March, a decrease of 94% from the previous year. According to the New York Post, this is the lowest level in at least25 yearsand if illegal crossings continue to stay atthese levels,the country willhit a low not seen since 1968.”

Despite this stunning success, the Democrats continue to hysterically oppose President Trump across the board. Unfortunately for Democrats, their protests last weekend did not reach the levels of participation that was anticipated.

In addition, the party is fractured with some elements supporting a more radical agenda, while others hope for some moderation.

In the meantime, President Trump and his administration continue to move forward, dealing with the strident and multifaceted opposition, but knowing that their agenda has the backing of most Americans.
