In several recent speeches, former President Donald Trump has called November 5, 2024, not only "the most important day in American history," but also "Liberation Day" in our country.
On this Election Day, Trump is vowing to liberate Americans from the open border, socialist, and globalist policies of the administration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
For the first time in his three presidential campaigns, Trump is leading his Democratic opponent in the Real Clear Politics national poll average and in all seven of the battleground states. This is much better than Trump was doing at this point in 2016 or 2020.
One of the reasons for his success is that Trump is gaining ground in historically "blue" Democrat states and with typically loyal Democratic Party constituencies, such as young people, African American men and Hispanic voters.
No wonder the Democrats are so desperate.
In a speech on Saturday to Harris supporters in Kalamazoo, Michigan, former First Lady Michelle Obama said, "I lay awake at night wondering, what in the world is going on? And it’s clear to me, the question for me isn’t whether Kamala is ready for this moment…. because by every measure she has demonstrated that she’s ready. The real question is, as a country, are we ready for this moment?"
Incredibly, Michelle Obama implied that Americans who do not vote for Harris are both sexists and racists. She said that a Trump victory would deliver "dire consequences" to America that give her "genuine fear."
This belief is shared by former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacy Abrams, who claimed the movement of African American men toward Trump was due to their "sexism" and "racism."
Of course, these charges are ridiculous, there are countless reasons to reject Harris for all Americans. Her record as a California politician and as Vice President is horrific. She has failed in every important measure, from the economy to the border.
Her performance as a presidential candidate in this election has been dreadful. Even on leftwing media outlets sympathetic to her candidacy, Harris has delivered a steady diet of "word salads."
After a recent CNN town hall appearance, former Obama administration adviser David Axelrod blasted her performance.
He complained, "The things that would concern me is when she doesn’t want to answer a question, her habit is to kind of go to Word Salad City." Axelrod explained that after CNN anchor Anderson Cooper asked her about Israel, Harris delivered "a seven-minute answer, but none of it related to the question he was asking."
Along with horrific performances on friendly programs, Harris has refused to participate in programs, other than one Fox News interview, that may challenge her with tough questions. For example, despite repeated offers, Harris refused an interview with Joe Rogan, the most popular podcaster in the country.
Obviously, Democrats do not want to debate actual policies, and they know most Americans are worse off today than they were during the Trump presidency. This is the key question Ronald Reagan made famous in the 1980 campaign and it is the main reason why Americans do not want four more years of Biden/Harris policies.
Harris has not been able to articulate any major differences between her policies and those of the Biden administration, so it will be "more of the same." Thus, instead of discussing policies, Democrats have decided to engage in a despicable strategy, the hateful demonization of Trump and his supporters.
While this demagoguery is disgusting, it is a long-standing practice for Democrats. In the 2016 campaign, Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton infamously claimed Trump and "half" of his "supporters" could be placed in "the basket of deplorables."
She called them "racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic…and, unfortunately, there are people like that, and he has lifted them up."
In this campaign, the hateful loser, Hillary Clinton, has continued to hurl vile insults toward Trump and his supporters.
Last Thursday, on CNN, Clinton compared Trump’s major event at Madison Square Garden in New York City to a 1939 pro-Nazi rally. Incredibly, she said that Trump was "actually reenacting" the Nazi rally.
Of course, such a comment is not only preposterous, but it is also incendiary. It is insulting toward Trump and millions of his supporters. Yet, sadly, Clinton is not the only Democrat pushing this outrageous narrative.
There is nothing from Kamala Harris but a steady diet of hate. In her CNN town hall meeting, Harris was asked about whether Trump is a fascist, and she answered, "Yes I do."
The problem with such nonsense is that Trump did not act like a "fascist" in his four years as president. Instead, he delivered peace, prosperity and border security.
Democrats are desperate because they controlled the White House for 12 out of the last 16 years and Americans are hungry for a change. Thankfully, "Liberation Day" is right around the corner.
