You can almost feel it in the air.
More Americans are learning what most of you guys already knew. The progressive experiment of social justice and defunding the police has been a massive failure. Even NYC Mayor Bill DeBlasio is "refunding" his police department.
Most of the NYC Mayoral candidates say the city cannot afford to defund the police.
That's what happens when four-year-old little girls are getting shot in Times Square.
The human flight or fight response has been activated inside millions of Americans.
They are sick of fighting these ultra-progressive policies championed by like DeBlasio.
They've given up. Lots of people are fleeing to places like Texas and Florida.
And a lot of them are running from places that seem to have something in common.
They've elected District and States Attorneys backed by George Soros's progressive money machine - the Open Societies Foundation.
People like Larry Krasner in Philadelphia, Kim Gardner in St. Louis, Kim Foxx in Chicao, George Gascon in Los Angeles. All of them have watched crime skyrocket in their cities.
Soros spent at least $3 Million dollars on DA's races in 2016 - alone.
This - according to Politico. The money spent in places like Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Texas and Florida, through a network of dark-money super PACs.
All under the banner of "Safety and Justice." They supported candidates like Aramis Ayala - an anti-Second Amendment television analyst who gained notoriety during George Zimmerman's trial.
The Open-Societies Foundation also backed Baltimore District Attorney Marilyn Mosby.
And for some reason progressives still support her.
Homicides, rapes, aggravated assaults, burglaries, and robberies have exploded under Mosby's watch.
Her politically motivated investigation and prosecution of the six Baltimore police officers charged in the Freddie Gray killing resulted in three of officers's acquittals.
Mosby was forced to drop the remaining charges against the other officers.
And the Obama DOJ also failed to bring any charges against the Baltimore Police Department.
Baltimore descended into Chaos as a result.
Yet Mosby remains employed by the people of Baltimore.
The local media in Baltimore have started asking some tough questions about Mosby, her finances, and who's paying for her frequent travel.
Last summer, an independent news site called the Baltimore Brew reported that Mosby claimed at least $30k in travel expenses over 2018-19
Including - airfare, hotel rooms, and per-diems.
These were by far the largest travel reimbursements claimed by any elected official in Maryland, according to the report.
The people of Baltimore understandably might want to know why the city's top law enforcement official was leaving town so much - you know, given that crime was exploding in her backyard.
Apparently it's a touchy subject. Mosby doesn't like the attention and her office wants it to stop.
The Baltimore State Attorney's office fired off a letter to the Federal Communications Commission.
They point out that there were about 250 stories on local Baltimore TV stations last year - solely about Mosby. Mosby's Communications Director Zy Richardson claims one station's coverage is "blatantly slanted, dishonest, misleading, racist, and extremely dangerous"
Mosby demands the FCC to investigate the station and potentially strip them of their FCC license. Meanwhile, it looks like Ms. Mosby has other plans outside of Baltimore.
In that sense, Ms. Mosby is like millions of other Americans who’ve left their progressive, crime ridden city behind and move to Florida.
According to her latest ethics disclosure, and the Baltimore Sun, Mosby recently bought at least one half-million-dollar Florida home near Orlando. There are also reports of a second Florida home purchase just this February in Sarasota.
Mosby also disclosed that the IRS has filed a lien on all her property for back taxes owed by her and her husband Nick Mosby.
By the way. he's the Baltimore City Council President.
Last month we learned from the Baltimore Sun that the Mosby are the target of Federal Criminal investigation.Mosby went on a local radio show to defend herself saying she’ll "...take the same approach to this investigation and everything else that is looming, as I do all the others. I'll cooperate as much as I can because I'm 100% confident that there will be no finding of wrongdoing or illegality on my part."
We called Mosby's office and her Communications Director Zy Richardson yesterday. That was at about 8:30 on Tuesday morning, four hours before we aired this segment.
She, nor her communications director, returned our calls.
She did respond to a series of my tweets about her which included questions we had about her recent real estate purchases and her tax liens.
She responded with, "Like millions of Americans, we owed taxes and it’s been paid."
She did not answer my questions about Florida and why she decided to purchase real estate there.
