Democratic Mayoral Nominee Zohran Mamdani Continues to Bury the Law. The Optics are Not Good for Him in the Least

Good grief. The Mayoral race in New York City isn’t even until later this year, and Zohran Mamdani continues to make a case as to why he’s the worst possible candidate for it.

He was already in hot enough water last week when his "Defund the Police" commentary from years ago resurfaced, following the tragic shooting that took place in Manhattan.

He tried to walk back those comments, though many made it clear that they didn’t believe him. And, whew, for good reason.

This week, however, Mamdani decided to continue on his little crusade, and indicated how some officers aren’t doing the duty that they’re assigned.

During an appearance at a church recently, Mamdani made it clear that he is not a fan of President Donald Trump's ongoing campaign to remove violent illegal immigrants from the United States.

He noted how the United States was facing a "dark moment" with the Trump administration acting as an "authoritarian government," and how ICE was simply "abduct(ing) immigrants."

"That is not justice. It is cruelty and it is criminal. These are our neighbors, people who are guilty of only wanting a field of their own to harvest," he added.

Mamdani, let me make a few things clear to you on this.

Number one, your stance is already one which may cause many to see you as anti-police.

You can talk until you're blue in the face, in to try and convince us otherwise, but many officers are leaving the NYPD because politicians like you simply don't value them.

And if you do end up sworn into office for New York City Mayor, things will get worse.

That's a promise.

In fact, you noted during an interview that you were open to the idea of social workers and "transit ambassadors" taking certain 911 calls for police officers in an effort to lighten their load.

But what you don’t seem to realize is that's a step towards taking away from their crucial duties. They need support. Support with better gear and mental health. Not a "lightened load."

And, surprise, you don't seem too eager to provide that.

Let’s keep going. You were at a church. This is supposed to be a place where people are thankful for God and praising his name.

Instead, you made this a platform for a political opinion and, for all we know, you made Trump supporters uncomfortable. Now I know some folks on social media may be giddy about this, but church is supposed to be about equality in the eyes of God.

This, sir, is not equal.

Also, ICE is not "abduct(ing)" anyone.

ICE has been assigned to remove violent illegal immigrants from this country.

Gang members, those who assault, murderers, you name it.

They aren’t taking everyone, just those that entered our country illegally and set up some sort of shop here.

In fact, Kristi Noem, secretary for DHS, made this point even clearer while talking to Fox News.

"I can’t even imagine how the people of New York City feel listening to that, knowing that if he were elected as Mayor, that they would have to continue to live with the dangerous criminals that are on their streets terrorizing that city right now," she noted.

Exactly.

He's more concerned about the treatment of these immigrants than about the officers that are trying to keep our citizens safe. And I think his "these are our neighbors" comment really hits home with that way of thinking.

They are not our neighbors.

Our neighbors are the hard-working men and women in this country working to get by while immigrant criminals pose a threat to our very way of life. All Mamdani wants to do is pat them on the back and scold the dedicated officers for doing their job.

I hope more people are seeing what kind of candidate Mamdani is, and the lies he's spewing for the sake of his own political agenda.

I hope that has an effect on his run in office and we get a good, strong Republican who will take care of our police and continue pushing for a better way of life.
