Days before President Donald Trump's inauguration, former President Joe Biden's Department of Education opened a $75 million grant fund for nonwhites, federal records reviewed by the Washington Examiner on Monday show.

The money was allocated for what is known as a SEED grant, or Supporting Effective Educator Development Grant Program. The grant's first "competitive preference priority" calls for "increasing educator diversity."

Applications for the grant are currently active, but the program comes up against Trump's hardline stance against Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs.

On Monday, per the Examiner, Trump issued an executive order placing all DEI roles on administrative leave and announced arrangements to fire them by the end of the month.

Moreover, Trump ordered his administration to identify private entities racially discriminating via DEI practices in the prospect for future litigation.
