DeSantis Blasts 'Hypocrisy' Surrounding Biden Classified Docs Controversy

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday blasted the "hypocrisy" surrounding President Joe Biden's handling of classified documents, telling a group of supporters and journalists he was concerned Hunter Biden could have had access to the sensitive information, "which is definitely a security risk in my book."

Classified documents have been found at Biden's Wilmington, Delaware, home and in the Washington office space of Biden's former institute, a discovery now being investigated by the Department of Justice.

"Look, he said it was incredibly reckless to have classified. He said all this stuff, you know, on '60 Minutes.' And now you find out he had them stashed behind his Corvette at his house that Hunter had access to, which is definitely a security risk in my book," DeSantis said at a press conference in Daytona Beach Shores, Florida, prompting applause from the audience.

"They had all this stuff to say. Now they're acting like this is something — like it's not a big deal. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. You can't have two different sets of rules based on your political party," he added.

Investigators from the DOJ and FBI also are looking into classified materials taken to Florida by former President Donald Trump.

In August, FBI agents conducting a search retrieved 33 boxes from Mar-a-Lago. The search came after lawyers for Trump provided a sworn certification that all government records had been returned.

"The raid of [Mar-a-Lago] is another escalation in the weaponization of federal agencies against the regime's political opponents, while people like Hunter Biden get treated with kid gloves," DeSantis said.
