The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said Tuesday that it struck Iranian-aligned militia weapons storage facility in Syria which it said came in response to an Iranian-aligned attack against U.S. forces in the country on Monday.

CENTCOM said its assessment showed there were no civilian casualties.

Further, it struck the storage facility to prevent "their ability to plan and launch attacks on U.S. and coalition forces."

"We will not tolerate any attacks on our personnel and coalition partners," CENTCOM Commander Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla said in a statement.
