Proving pay-for-play influence peddling can be a tricky thing, but House Oversight Committee James Comer, R-Ky., sounds confident he can make the walls close in on President Joe Biden.
"We have six different policy decisions — four of which were made while Biden was president — that we can't come to any other conclusion as to why these decisions were made other than the fact that this president is compromised," Comer told "The Cats Roundtable."
"This family's taken too much money from the Chinese Communist Party not to completely join the majority of Americans in trying to oppose the Chinese Communist Party's attempt to take over certain industries in America."
Comer is leading the oversight investigations into the Biden family's foreign business dealings and has long determined the Biden's family business is "influence peddling," which is not a crime unless it is tied to tax evasion. It can be impeachable for a president under bribery, though.
"This is an organized family crime unit, essentially, and the business model was to profit off Joe Biden's influence as vice president and future influence as president of United States," Comer told host John Catsimatidis.
The Chinese Communist Party, enriched for decades off its exports to America, wanted to buy into American industry, including defense manufacturers, according to Comer.
"Anything that China could buy an interest in in the United States, without having to be blocked by the barriers to entry, they were going to use the Bidens to navigate the federal bureaucracy," Comer said, noting the family did the bidding for Joe Biden.
"He was the 'Big Guy.' Make no mistake: He was the 'Big Guy.' "
The level of income from the foreign business dealings could exceed $30 million, Comer added."I'm confident it's at least $17 million and it would not surprise me if it got to $30 million," he said. "The transactions could exceed $40 million plus, but a lot of times these shell companies had other owners on the shell companies so that they could disguise the revenue and hide the revenue from either the IRS or the federal authorities or whomever."
The influence has been peddled and paid for by Romania, China, Ukraine, Russia, countries in the Middle East, and even rare-earth miners in Africa — the latter with potential ties to Hunter Biden, according to Comer.
"Hunter Biden said he never profited from that," Comer concluded. "Stay tuned. We'll see if that's a true statement."
