A major donor to President Joe Biden's campaign will not back Vice President Kamala Harris in her bid for the White House despite Biden's endorsement following his withdrawal from the election.
Biden announced on Sunday that he would no longer seek reelection, issuing an endorsement for Harris in a statement soon after announcing his decision.
John Morgan, the Florida-based attorney and founder of the personal injury law firm Morgan & Morgan, wrote on social media in a series of posts that he will not support Harris and called Biden's endorsement of Harris "his f*** you to all who pushed him out. Be careful what you wish for."
He later told ABC News in a statement that "if Trump world could pick anybody to run against, I think they pick her."
In another social media post, Morgan wrote, "You have to be enthusiastic or hoping for a political appointment to be asking friends for money. I am neither. It's others turn now. The donors holding the 90 million can release those funds in the morning. It's all yours. You can keep my million. And good luck."
Morgan wrote another post claiming that "any combination of these people win," listing Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, and adding that former first lady Michelle Obama "wins in a landslide with any of these picks."
