Former White House adviser Kellyanne Conway met with the House select committee investigating the events surrounding the Jan. 6 Capitol riot on Monday, NBC News reported.

Sources told NBC that Conway, who was not working in the Trump administration at the time of the incident, spoke on the record during her meeting. The panel did not issue a public subpoena for Conway to appear, and the committee did not respond to requests for comment when asked if a private subpoena was issued.

Conway was spotted inside the O'Neill House Office Building along with attorney Emmet Flood, who previously served in the Trump White House. Conway told reporters during a break, "I'm here voluntarily," and said she spoke with Trump last week, saying, "He called me."

When asked about the panel, Conway said: "I won't discuss the committee's work."

The panel is expected to release a final report before Republicans take control of the House in January. Committee member Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., told CNN on Sunday that, "I would like to see our report be as broad and inclusive as possible.

"We are discussing as a committee among the members what belongs in the body of the report, what belongs in the appendices of the report, what is beyond the scope of our investigation, and we'll reach those decisions in a collaborative manner."
