The president of Log Cabin Republicans shot down the fear mongering being employed by the gay left over the results of the election, asserting that President-elect Donald Trump is the best Republican president on LGBTQ issues, possibly ever.
Charles Moran made the comments in an interview with Breitbart published Monday.
"We saw this in 2016. We saw it in 2020. And we're seeing it in 2024," Moran told the outlet, adding the far left is trying to scare the LGBTQ community "to make them think their rights are in jeopardy."
"This is what the left does — if you don't vote for the Democrats, you're at risk of losing your rights. Trump is the best president the Republican party has ever had on LGBTQ issues," Moran told Breitbart, adding, "You could argue Trump is the best president for LGBTQ people in history."
Moran pointed to the nomination of Scott Bessent for Treasury Secretary, poised to become the highest-ranking openly gay official in U.S. history. Also, Ric Grenell was Trump's acting director of national intelligence and ambassador to Germany in the first Trump administration. Grenell has been tapped to be Trump's presidential envoy for special missions in the upcoming administration.
