The latest Trafalgar Group poll out of North Carolina shows former President Donald Trump leading Vice President Kamala Harris in the key battleground state by two points, 46% to 44%, with exactly three weeks to go until Election Day.

That's a slight drop for Trump from the September survey, which had him up by 2.4 percentage points at 48.4% to 46%.

Additional Trafalgar Group surveys of battleground states show Trump with a slight advantage over Harris in Arizona and Georgia, and behind by less than a point in Nevada. Trafalgar's September polling shows Trump ahead in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin as well.

The North Carolina poll numbers come as the state prepares to begin in-person early voting this week, even as residents and officials continue clean up after Hurricane Helene devastated the western part of the state. The North Carolina State Board of Elections said 76 of 80 sites will be operational when early voting opens on Thursday.

This year will also be the first year that North Carolina residents must show identification to vote. Voters from counties hit by Helene who don't have ID will be allowed to vote, but will have to fill out additional paperwork.

The Trafalgar Group poll was conducted Oct. 10-13 among 1,085 likely voters and has a margin of error of 2.9% percentage points.
