An Emerson College poll of voters who participated in the 2024 presidential election showed that nearly all would vote the same way today.

The poll marking the first 100 days of President Donald Trump's second term in the White House showed that 94% of those who voted for Trump would do so again. Of those who said they supported Democrat Kamala Harris in the election, 93% said they would vote the same way. The poll synopsis said that gave Trump a 48% to 47% advantage.

A key area of concern the poll found was that on the economy, only 37% of the respondents approve of Trump's policies and 49% disapprove.

Emerson's 50-day poll into Trump's second term showed that he received a 39% rating on whether he was doing better than expected; 36% responded that he was doing worse than expected and 24% thought he was doing about as expected.

The new poll showed Trump's approval rating by voters dropped 2 points in the last 50 days to stand at 45%; 49% now say they disapprove of his performance in office and 10% are neutral. Over the past 50 days, Trump's approval has dropped 2 points, but his disapproval rating has stayed the same.

"Despite several unpopular domestic and foreign policies, President Trump still holds an entrenched base of voters who, if given the chance, say they would vote for him again," said Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College polling.

Outside of the economy, Kimball said, potential policy areas of concern that voters had about Trump include: foreign policy and tariffs, and his handling of the Russia-Ukraine war. The poll showed Trump supporters generally divided on immigration and deportation decisions.

The Emerson College Polling national survey was conducted April 25-28. The sample of U.S. active registered voters has a credibility interval of 3 percentage points.
