Nearly 6 in 10 likely voters say Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democrat presidential nominee, offers "more of the same," a Rasmussen Reports poll found.
Only 37% say Harris offers "a fresh start and a new direction," the Rasmussen survey results showed. Another 58% say she offers more of the same that has been experienced under President Joe Biden, and 6% are not sure.
Meanwhile, a majority (52%) of voters say former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, offers the U.S. a fresh start and a new direction.
Another 39% say Trump is offering more of the same and 9% are not sure.
A share of 57% of voters 65 and older say Trump offers the country a fresh start, as do 54% of those ages 40-64 and 45% of voters under 40.
The Rasmussen Reports poll also found that a whopping 73% say general conditions in the country call for a fresh start and a new direction.
Another 20% say the country needs more of the same, and 7% are not sure.
In a racial breakdown, 74% of whites, 71% of Black voters, 69% of Hispanics and 76% of other minorities say the U.S. needs a fresh start and a new direction.
Pollster John McLaughlin told Newsmax on Saturday that current polling data continues to show a tight race for the White House, despite what the media may portray.
Rasmussen Reports found that 60% of voters say the nation is headed down the wrong track. Among those voters, 78% say Harris offers America more of the same, while 74% said Trump is offering a fresh start and a new direction.
Overall, 77% of Republicans, 36% of Democrats and 62% of unaffiliated voters say Harris offers more of the same.
Also, 80% of Republicans, 23% of Democrats and 54% of unaffiliated voters say Trump is offering the country a fresh start and a new direction.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey was conducted Sept. 10-12 among 1,238 U.S. likely voters. It has a margin of error of plus/minus 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
