The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released a list of vulnerable Democrat members of Congress it seeks to target to expand the party's House majority in 2024.
Republicans currently have a 222-213 majority in the House of Representatives.
The 37 seats held by House Democrats being targeted include nearly all the ones listed by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee as "front-line" seats it knows are vulnerable but is trying to preserve, the Washington Examiner reported.
"Republicans are in the majority and on offense. We will grow our House majority by building strong campaigns around talented recruits in these districts who can communicate the dangers of Democrats' extreme agenda," NRCC Chairman Richard Hudson, R-N.C., said in a statement. "These House Democrats should be shaking in their boots."
Democrats being targeted by the Republicans include Mary Peltola (Alaska), Josh Harder (Calif.), Mike Levin (Calif.), Yadira Caraveo (Colo.), Jahana Hayes (Conn.), Darren Soto (Fla.), Eric Sorensen (Ill.), Frank Mrvan (Ind.), Sharice Davids (Kan.), Jared Golden (Maine), Hillary Scholten (Mich.), Dan Kildee (Mich.), Angie Craig (Minn.), Don Davis (N.C.), Wiley Nickel (N.C.), Jeff Jackson (N.C.), Chris Pappas (N.H.), Gabriel Vasquez (N.M.), Dina Titus (Nev.), Susie Lee (Nev.), Steven Horsford (Nev.), Pat Ryan (N.Y.), Greg Landsman (Ohio), Marcy Kaptur (Ohio), Emilia Sykes (Ohio), Val Hoyle (Ore.), Andrea Salinas (Ore.), Susan Wild (Pa.), Matt Cartwright (Pa.), Chris Deluzio (Pa.), Seth Magaziner (R.I.), Vicente Gonzalez (Texas), Abigail Spanberger (Va.), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (Wash.) and Kim Schrier (Wash).
Republicans are also targeting seats currently held by Katie Porter (Calif.) and Elissa Slotkin (Mich.). Porter and Slotkin are running for Senate seats in their respective states, making those races open with no incumbent.
Many of the Democrats named in the GOP's target list were also targeted for the 2022 elections by the NRCC. While Republicans retook the lower chamber of Congress in 2022, they did so despite underperforming in several key races nationwide, the Washington Examiner noted.
