Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced Wednesday that the Department of Government Efficiency commission will play a role in "upgrading our aviation system."
"Big News," Duffy wrote on X. "Talked to the DOGE team. They are going to plug in to help upgrade our aviation system."
Elon Musk, who leads the DOGE commission, replied to Duffy's post, writing, "With the support of President [Donald Trump], the [DOGE] team will aim to make rapid safety upgrades to the air traffic control system. Just a few days ago, the FAA's primary aircraft safety notification system failed for several hours!"
An X user named Science Guy then replied to Musk that the air traffic control system should be upgraded from radar maps to 3-D maps and that the system should be automated.
"I agree!" Musk replied.
It is not immediately known what changes will be implemented by DOGE.
