A new Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll survey reveals that former President Donald Trump leads both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in separate general-election polls for the 2024 presidential election.

For the overall survey — which chronicled the responses of 1,838 registered voters over a two-day span (Feb. 15-16) — Trump rolled to decisive victories over Biden and Harris, if the 2024 election were held today.

Against Biden, Trump (46%) posted a 5-point advantage over the current commander-in-chief (41%).

The gap was even larger for the Trump-Harris matchup, with the former securing 49% of voter support, compared to just 39% for the vice president.

For the two hypothetical matchups, 13% of voters opted for neither Trump nor the Democratic National Committee's nominee.

It's worth noting: The survey didn't specify whether VP Harris claimed the DNC's hypothetical presidential nomination in a primary victory over Biden, or if the president simply chose not to pursue a second term in office.

According to The Hill, Biden's approval rating has held steady at 42% in recent weeks.

For next year's Republican primaries, according to Harvard/Harris, Trump dominated a hypothetical field of GOP candidates, commandeering 37% of support from the eight-way primary.

Within this part of the survey, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis collected 19% of the overall GOP support, good for second place; and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley — who confirmed her presidential candidacy earlier this week — tallied 7% in the eight-way primary.

Last month, a similar Harvard/Harris poll — which serves as a collaboration of the Center for American Political Studies at Harvard University and the Harris Poll — had Haley at only 3% among voters.
