President Donald Trump will get intelligence briefings on Iran for the next three days around a trip to his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, CBS News reported Thursday.
Trump will be briefed Friday with the National Security Council before he leaves for Bedminster and will get another briefing when he returns to the White House on Saturday, according to the report. He's scheduled for another Sunday.
The White House said Thursday that Trump will take two weeks to decide whether to get the U.S. involved in military action against Iran.
According to CBS News, Trump is taking that time to decide whether to bomb Iran's Fordow fuel enrichment plant near Qom, the nuclear site nestled roughly 300 feet below ground level.
Trump has already been briefed on the pros and cons of bombing Iran's most secure nuclear site, according to the report. Trump has discussed using bunker-buster bombs to neutralize the site's capabilities, according to the report.
Israel does not possess an aerial bomb that could destroy the site, CNN reported.
At issue is the risk of Iran being able to produce a nuclear weapon in a short period of time at the uranium enrichment plant. CIA Director John Ratcliffe has said Iran is viewed as being close to possessing nukes, according to the report.
Mark Warner, D-Va., Senate Intelligence Committee ranking member, said earlier this week that "the intelligence community has stood by its conclusion that Iran is not moving towards a nuclear weapon" so far.
Danny Danon, Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, told Newsmax on Tuesday that Israel's airstrikes have "pushed Iran back, years back, with atomic plans, with ballistic missiles," adding Israel has "more to do."
