Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita expressed his views on the recent developments regarding former President Donald Trump's legal battles, including presidential immunity and his removal from the ballot in Colorado, during an interview with Newsmax on Wednesday.

He commented on "The Chris Salcedo Show" that the federal appeals court's rejection of Trump's immunity claim is still being reviewed by his office, and the ongoing efforts to support Trump's right to appear on the Colorado ballot in 2024 "really should be a 9-0 [SCOTUS] decision, quite honestly."

Rokita stated regarding immunity: "Well, you know, we're looking at that case still, ... you know, I've seen immunity applied certainly more broadly to other presidents and other cases, and I don't know why President Trump isn't afforded the same courtesy."

He emphasized the importance of equal application of the rule of law, stating: "We agree with the rule of law that we're all under it. It should be applied to all of us equally. And that includes all of us whether you're president or not, and President Trump has been jerked around not just by the court system but by these Democrats and opponents since the day he came down those stairs, and it's wrong, and I'd stand up for any presidential candidate the same way."

Rokita's office stated he and West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey are leading a 27-state brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in support of Trump's right to appear on the Colorado ballot in 2024. They argue that Congress, not courts, should decide who can run for federal office under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.

"American voters choose the President, not a partisan court in Colorado," Rokita asserted in a statement. He criticized the state court's decision to declare Trump an insurrectionist, stating it would cause chaos and disenfranchise voters. He called for the U.S. Supreme Court to intervene immediately, highlighting the importance of maintaining trust in the electoral process.

"I am pleased that 27 of my colleagues, including Patrick Morrisey, as you mentioned, jumped in to help here," Rokita concluded.
