Christina Bobb, an attorney for former President Donald Trump's Save America PAC, told Newsmax on Thursday that she initially thought the Supreme Court decision on the Colorado case disqualifying Trump from the ballot could be unanimous, but she now thinks politics might split the ultimate decision.

"I have said I thought that this could be a unanimous decision," Bobb said on Newsmax's "National Report." "I thought the law is so clear on this, both the constitutional language itself, plus the subsequent case law interpreting the definition of officer in that, so I don't see this as being a particularly challenging decision. However, with how contentious the protests and the politicization of this have come out, I'll be real curious to see how the justices fall in line because I think the law is very clear.

"I think this is an issue that needs to be decided by the voters. It shouldn't be decided by senators or justices or nine people on a court. This needs to be decided by the voters. Put him on the ballot, let the voters decide if they want him or not. So, I think you see a lot of jockeying, trying to put one political party in a better position than the other, and, in reality, Donald Trump is going to be on the ballot. I don't see any way the justices decide against him in this case."

Bobb added: "You look at the two dozen cases that have already been decided and come down, with half of the states in the union already weighing in on this issue, and only one court has found against Donald Trump. The spectacle they've created this to be makes it look a lot closer than it is. It really is not a close issue."

Bobb gave an assessment on how Trump's lawyer, Jonathan Mitchell, appeared to be faring in arguments before the Supreme Court justices.

"I have been listening," she said. "I think Jonathan is doing a great job of fielding questions that he probably wasn't necessarily expecting that to be his main argument, but I think he's doing a great job. I think he's making all of the relevant points for those, and I'm real curious to see the questions and where they go on the main issue, which is, the Constitution and subsequent case law would say that this doesn't even apply to the president."

Bobb also commented on Sen. Dick Durbin's call for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas to recuse himself from the Trump ballot eligibility case "[g]iven questions surrounding his wife's involvement."

"I think that's ridiculous," Bobb said. "The only reason they want Justice Clarence Thomas to recuse himself is because they believe that he will decide in accordance with the law, which also supports Donald Trump."
