Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas' failure to order the detainments of immigrants entering the country illegally has left the United States vulnerable to attack, Rep. Dale Strong, a member of the House Armed Services and Homeland Security committees said on Newsmax Sunday.
"The American people have seen the evidence: 8.5 million have crossed that border illegally," the Alabama Republican said on Newsmax's "Sunday Agenda." "He's using this parole system just to parole everybody into the country. Just remember, 19 people created 9/11; can you imagine what 8.5 million are going to do?"
When asked what would happen if President Joe Biden replaces Mayorkas, if the secretary is impeached, with someone like him, Strong said he'll take his chances.
"He's violated U.S. law," he said. "I believe he wants America to look more like Cuba. It's unacceptable, but I'll take my chances and I think that's exactly what our committee did. We took the evidence to the people on our committee, voted 18-15 to send it to the floor, and now it's time to check the oil of those members of Congress to find out who believes that Mayorkas violated U.S. law."
Meanwhile, Strong said he thinks Biden is "asleep at the switch" when it comes to the Middle East.
"There have been about 140 strikes on military bases, and he finally decides that it's time to do something," said Strong. "What he's doing is failing to address the issue. The issue is Iran. That's where where the attacks need to be. Attack their energy; attack their oil. And I'll promise you this right here: It will make a difference."
