Vice President Kamala Harris' claim she had no impact on fracking is a "fracking lie," Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Pa., told Newsmax on Wednesday.
"[Harris] has stated many times that she wanted to prohibit, ban, fracking several times in the not too recent past. And now, as Bernie Sanders put it, for pragmatic purposes, to win an election, she's stating something otherwise," Meuser said on "American Agenda."
"The Biden-Harris administration has prohibited the exports of new natural gas shipments. And look what it's doing to the EU. Look, everything this administration touches has turned to mud, right? The EU is now forced to buy natural gas from enemies, from Russia, for instance. Meanwhile, we're asking the American taxpayer to fund the Ukrainian war. And yet we're forcing the EU to help enrich the Russian war effort."
Meuser said Biden's and Harris' policies are bad for the economy as well.
"It's greatly destabilizing all of the investment that takes place for new capital investments, for the improvement, and expansion, and capacity enhancement," Meuser said. "In Pennsylvania, they've rattled the markets, they've rattled our economy. And now she wants to be rewarded by being president.
"And even if she doesn't ban [fracking], she can tax it and regulate it out of existence."
