Presidential adviser Dick Morris told Newsmax on Saturday that he would advise President-elect Donald Trump "to be careful" about the recent praise coming from some tech executives looking to curry favor.

On Friday, Apple CEO Tim Cook met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago and likely continued their conversation regarding European regulators looking to reign in Apple's perceived monopoly in the App Store. In November, Trump met with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and is scheduled to meet with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos next week. Morris said he is "very distrustful" of the praise being given to Trump from the Silicon Valley executives.

"I think that these are folks that never would have supported Trump had he not won. And these late friends are people who have a lot of special interests to grind, many of which were a trap set for Trump, that they never got to close and never got to go with against him. And so I would caution the president to be careful about this," Morris said during an appearance on "Saturday Report."

Morris added that while "adulation is welcome and its a lot better than impeachment and investigations, I'm not sure that the actors have his best interests at heart."
