Former President Donald Trump told Newsmax Monday night that Fox News is "prejudiced" against him and has a record of biased coverage.

Newsmax host Eric Bolling, of "Eric Bolling The Balance," asked Trump about Fox's "massive drop in viewership" after Tucker Carlson's firing, Trump noted that "they have people that aren't great, but I think their attitude is not good."

Trump said the network fails to cover "a lot of the things that they should be covering."

The former President also complained of unfair coverage, saying Fox is backing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

"They backed a guy that can't win, Ron DeSanctimonious, I call him," Trump said.

"He's losing by 40 points. Some people say 51 points. He's losing by that. They give him so much [air]time. They gave him a live presentation down at the border, which was very boring."

Meanwhile Trump accused Fox News of "purposely" not covering his speech at the Faith and Freedom Coalition in Washington, D.C., on Saturday.

When Bolling noted that political strategist Karl Rove is often on Fox News to criticize Trump, the former president slammed Rove as a "RINO" — a Republican in name only.

"This is a guy that has his own agenda and I know what the agenda is," said Trump. "But the people are finding out and Murdoch and all of these people at Fox, they want to put him on. They keep putting him on. People turn off when he's on."

Trump said viewers are turning off Fox for Newsmax.

"Newsmax has been great," he said, adding, "It's incredible, actually, how smart the public is but they are watching you. I tell you, your numbers are been very good. I've been watching, Eric. I'm very impressed with your numbers."

Trump also said he was declining to joining the first Republican primary debate scheduled for August.

Trump asserted that the debate is being hosted by a "hostile network like Fox."

Trump cited his recent interview with Fox News' Brett Baier as evidence of the network's bias.

"[T]here was nothing friendly about it," he said. "It [was] nasty.""

Trump recalled the sit-down: "Everything was unfriendly. No smiling. No 'Let's have fun. Let's make America great again.' Everything was like a hit.'"
