Former President Donald Trump on Monday told Newsmax that Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel "understands" she should resign.

Newsmax's Rob Schmitt, citing recent disappointing election cycles and poor fundraising, asked the former president if McDaniel should relinquish her post.

"I think she knows that, I think she understands that," Trump said. "As far as me, as far as I'm concerned, I endorsed ... almost 100% of the Republicans I endorse win. In the midterms, out of 253 endorsements I won 222 races."

Trump also appeared to allude to Republicans' inability to discuss the abortion issue in a way that wins over voters.

"There's an issue that people never talk about as to why and what happened, etcetera, etcetera, because Republicans don't know how to talk about that issue," he said. "My endorsement's been stronger, much stronger than it ever even has been. … I don't think there's ever has been anything like it."
