Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., on Newsmax, Friday fumed that Republicans on the House Oversight Committee were blindsided by the unexpected appearance of Hunter Biden at a hearing where they aimed to hold the president's son in contempt — declaring "this guy has got to go to jail."

In an interview on "Wake Up America," Mace said the surprise arrival of President Joe Biden's son unveiled "complete hypocrisy on the Hill."

"We don't have the power to actually arrest him," Mace noted. "I believe he should have been arrested … because if this were any other American … if they defied a congressional subpoena, if they shut up and spit in the face of Congress, mocked the institution and did not sit for the deposition, would not go through with the congressional subpoena, they would be thrown in jail," Mace said. "But if your last name is Biden, it's a completely different legal standard for you. And that's just completely wrong."

Mace said she holds "both Republicans and Democrats to the same standard."

"I was the only person in that room with a straight face that could say this guy's got to go to jail. He's got to be held in contempt," Mace declared.

She also said that "we were caught off guard" with the appearance, though Democrats on the committee were well aware of it.

"It was a massive PR stunt," she said.

Mace also scolded fellow Republicans for doing nothing about the sudden arrival Hunter Biden even though they were caught off guard.

"What you saw … was complete hypocrisy on the Hill," she said. "It's just massively disappointing to see [Hunter Biden] can just get away with this and there's no repercussions for it. It's frustrating, and it makes you angry."
