Texas Republican Rep. Ronny Jackson told Newsmax Monday that fellow Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib should lose her security clearances after she falsely accused Israel of bombing a hospital in Gaza in addition to other “antisemitic” comments, and openly supporting the terrorist organization Hamas.
“She's a disgrace, and she's dangerous right now. She’s out there spreading misinformation, misinformation that's putting lives at risk,” Jackson said during “National Report” Monday. “I hear from people in the Jewish community every single day. They are terrified to walk to the grocery store right now, because of some of the rhetoric that she is spreading out there, and some of the hate, some of the antisemitic hate, that she's fostering, and she's an elected leader of Congress. She should know better.”
Tlaib addressed Jewish Voices for Peace protesters at the Capitol in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 18, saying that “we are witnessing genocide” of the Palestinians, and then demanding a cease-fire from President Joe Biden.
“As an American, not just as a member of Congress, I am ashamed that [colleagues] are saying ‘not yet [for a cease-fire], maybe next week,’” she said. “How many more have to die?”
She then told the crowd that they were on “the right side of history.”
Jackson said Tlaib's stance on the issue makes it dangerous for her to be included in security briefings about the conflict.
“She absolutely, positively, does not need to be in any of these classified hearings that deal with Israel's potential ground assault, with Israel's ability to protect themselves, or with anything involving American troops and what we're doing to participate in there ultimately down the road,” he said. “I think that she's proven that her alliance is with Hamas, not with the American people. That's a sad thing to say about a member of Congress, but that's the fact, and I'm not the only one saying it.”
Jackson pointed out that even members of Tlaib’s own party are criticizing her for blaming the explosion at a hospital in Gaza on the Israelis, when U.S. intelligence says it was likely a misfiring rocket fired from inside Gaza toward Israel.
“It’s truly disturbing that Members of Congress rushed to blame Israel for the hospital tragedy in Gaza. Who would take the word of a group that just massacred innocent Israeli civilians over our key ally,” Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania said in a post on social media Oct. 18. “Now is not the time to talk about a cease-fire. We must support Israel in efforts to eliminate the Hamas terrorists who slaughtered innocent men, women, and children. Hamas does not want peace; they want to destroy Israel. We can talk about a cease-fire after Hamas is neutralized.”
