Jason Mattera to Newsmax: Democrats Need Soul-Searching

In the wake of the assassination of Turning Point USA founder and CEO Charlie Kirk on Wednesday afternoon in Utah, crime correspondent Jason Mattera told Newsmax that Democrats have "real soul-searching" to do regarding their heated rhetoric.

"And it is interesting that the same political party that is constantly chirping about more gun control needed is the same people that has a base that reverts to guns in order to silence their opposition. And the Democrat Party has to do real soul-searching within their movement to purge political violence," Mattera said on "The Chris Salcedo Show."

Mattera cautioned that some on the left have been warning that they are willing to go to extreme measures to silence opponents.

"So, these people have been telegraphing that if you don't, if you're not [in] lockstep with their ideas, they are willing to get aggressive and deadly against you. So, I know conservatives have have known this for a while, but it is really incumbent on whatever moderates are left in the Democratic Party, those who have some decency and common sense is to say, we need this to stop," he said.
