Jason Miller, senior adviser to the Trump campaign, told Newsmax on Monday that new polling showing a sweep for former President Donald Trump in the Sun Belt states shifts the focus of the 2024 presidential race to the Great Lakes states.

"This is great news, and to go and kind of break it down and put it in perspective for you, so with President Trump leading in the Sun Belt states — we talk about Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina — that means he just needs to get one of the Great Lakes states — we talk about Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin," Miller said on "Wake Up America."

"You just have to get one and poll after poll shows President Trump leading in Pennsylvania. We've seen polls showing us narrow leading in Wisconsin and same thing with Michigan showing us with a slight lead there. But he only needs to win one of those. I think he's in position to go and sweep the table like he did in 2016."

Miller said Trump recently spurred the shift by starting to lay out his priorities for a possible second White House term.

"You asked what has changed, what's become different? President Trump over the last couple of weeks has really started to lay out his vision: Here's what he's going to do on taxes and to bring prices down in the economy, here's what he's going to do to secure our border," Miller said.

"But [Vice President] Kamala Harris has either been hiding from the media or she goes on to shows like Oprah and can't answer a basic question and give some gobbledygook word salad that goes viral and people realize, Hey, there doesn't seem to be a lot going on there."

In new polls of three key states from The New York Times and Siena College, Trump pulled ahead in Arizona and maintained his lead in Georgia, states that President Joe Biden won in 2020.

According to the survey, Harris is narrowly trailing Trump in North Carolina, with his advantage falling within the poll's margin of error.

The Arizona survey found that Trump is ahead of Harris, 50% to 45%, while he is leading in Georgia 49% to Harris' 45%. In North Carolina, the poll found the former president drawing 49% of the vote to the vice president's 47%.
