A senior adviser to President-elect Donald Trump, Jason Miller, expressed strong support for Kash Patel's qualifications for FBI director during an appearance on Newsmax on Saturday, describing Patel as a seasoned and capable leader.

During an interview on "America Right Now," Miller praised Patel as an ideal candidate for FBI director, citing his extensive qualifications and commitment to removing politics from law enforcement.

"Kash Patel has absolutely knocked everybody's socks off," Miller said. "This is someone who's eminently qualified. He was the chief of staff at the Department of Defense. He was the deputy director of National Intelligence. He is someone who's been a federal prosecutor and a public defender. He has done it all."

Miller emphasized Patel's diverse experience and capabilities, pointing to his ability to restore confidence in law enforcement and depoliticize the justice system. "This is the type of person who I want to go in there and get the politics out of it," he added.

Miller mentioned recent concerns about the FBI's handling of assets during the events of Jan. 6, suggesting that such issues have eroded public trust and that Patel's change is needed.

"You see a lot of this funny business going on. I think people have really lost a lot of confidence with regard to the FBI and law enforcement," he said.

Miller also tied the challenges facing the FBI to broader issues within the Department of Justice, accusing it of weaponizing the justice system against Trump. He voiced confidence in the potential leadership of Patel and former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, who was recently tapped to become the U.S. Attorney General, suggesting their appointments would help set a new tone.

"Justice should be applied the same to everybody. That's what you see Pam Bondi and Kash Patel do," Miller said, advocating for their focus on fairness and impartiality.

Patel has been meeting with lawmakers on Capitol Hill, who are considering his extensive legal and intelligence background for a role as FBI director.
