President Joe Biden and his administration have "failed foreign policy since day one" by portraying weakness on the world stage, and that has led to the predicament that the United States is seeing now in the Middle East, Rep. Jen Kiggans said on Newsmax Sunday.

"It started with the Afghanistan withdrawal, which was chaotic," the Virginia Republican told Newsmax's "Sunday Report." "It sent a message to the world, right, that the Biden administration was going to be weak on foreign policy."

After that, Russia invaded Ukraine, China increased its aggression in the South China Sea, and Israel is at war after the Hamas invasion, said Kiggans.

"The Biden administration has been making poor foreign policy choices, and now we're continuing to coddle our enemies like Iran," she added. "We've got to do better at cracking down to get to the root of the problem … deterrence is a longtime process and we've got to do better."

The United States is planning more airstrikes against Iran-backed terrorists, as reports surface that civilians are also being killed in Syria and Iraq, but, Kiggans said, "the goal is always to deter war."

"War is never the answer, but we do that through strength, peace through strength, and we have been doing that, historically, until the Biden administration took office," she added.

Further, the United States has not been doing well with cutting off funding sources for terrorist organizations, as the Biden administration paid Iran $6 billion in a hostage deal, said Kiggans.

The president also removed the Houthis and other terrorist organizations from the federal watchlist, so "we are going in the wrong direction," the congresswoman said.

"We need a Republican back in the White House so we can get back to being a strong, strong country and having that strong foreign policy," said Kiggans.

She said she also finds it "very frustrating" to watch how Biden represents the United States on the world stage.

"He tells us what the strategy is," said Kiggans. "He takes way too much time to respond in the world is watching."

Meanwhile, Biden's continuing to campaign while the airstrikes are going on "shows us where his priorities lie," said Kiggans.

"I always say that if we don't have world peace, we have nothing," she said. "Look at what they've done to the economy. Look at what the agenda on community safety. Look at what they're doing to the border … I certainly hope the voters are paying attention because we've got big elections coming up in this November and things need to change."
