President Joe Biden's use of pseudonyms for his email correspondence, while he was vice president, is part of the "web of lies and deceit" that he has "spun over 60 years of public service," Rep. Mark Alford told Newsmax on Tuesday.

"The only kind of people I know that use pseudonyms or fake names are romance novel authors and people trying to hide something criminal," the Missouri Republican told Newsmax's "Wake Up America." "Believe me, Joe Biden is no Fabio."

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., last week demanded that the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) release records from Biden's years as vice president from times that overlapped with the activities of his son Hunter's activities in Ukraine, particularly emails that were signed with the pseudonyms "Robert Peters," "Robin Ware," and "JRB Ware."

Alford on Tuesday said the revelation about the fake names is another layer of his criminal actions over the years.

"I think these layers are being peeled back on this onion and what it all boils down to it's a very sour taste in the mouths of Americans," he said. "I believe that we have probably the most corrupt president in U.S. history in office right now, and it is a threat to our national security."

Alford also said the mainstream media is ignoring the story about the Bidens as it is covering up for the president.

"I was in the media for 35 years, and I know the gatekeeping process quite well," he said. "There are some in the legacy media who choose not to cover this story because they've been covering for Joe Biden all these many years."

The media, he added, "hated Trump so much that they did anything to collude with the Democrats and progressive woke, broke, liberal crowd to get Trump out of office. And that meant getting this Trojan Horse Joe Biden loaded up with a Green New Deal, and all these other progressive programs, into the White House. I'd be OK if Joe Biden went on permanent vacation."

Meanwhile, Comer needs to make "every attempt" to bring U.S. Attorney David Weiss, the special counsel investigating Hunter Biden, in to testify before his committee, said Alford.

"David Weiss is as much of a special prosecutor as I am Speaker of the House," he said. "He has no business being a special prosecutor. He does not meet the qualifications, especially that a prosecutor needs to come from outside the government where there's no undue influence."
