Michael Melham, mayor of Belleville, New Jersey, told Newsmax on Thursday he is fed up with the lack of answers about why drones are flying over his state.
"It's been four weeks now in New Jersey, where myself and other mayors have been besieged by our residents who are concerned," Melham said on "National Report." "They're anxious, they're worried, they're scared, and they're all seeking answers. And unfortunately ... there are still more questions than answers."
Melham said he wants the federal government to come clean.
"Tell us exactly what's hovering over our houses," Melham said.
A statewide meeting with mayors and other officials left Melham with even more questions.
"It could have very well been a five-minute Zoom meeting because we knew next to nothing once we left there," Melham said.
A conference call with the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs led to more frustration for Melham.
"The administration toed the party line," he said. "Nothing to see here."
In Belleville, Melham said he saw two six-foot drones hovering over his homes and is convinced they were not personal or commercial drones.
"This is high-level government, potentially new tech stuff that we're seeing," Melham said.
Melham said he asked for a temporary ban on all personal and commercial drones but was told that's not going to happen.
"Which is kind of curious," Melham said. "We're asking for truth, because if you have truth and you have transparency, that's exactly what eliminates all the crazy social media conspiracies."
