Former U.S. Attorney Joe diGenova, appearing on Newsmax on Monday alongside his wife, former chief counsel for the Senate Intelligence Committee Victoria Toensing, applauded the sleight of security clearance revocations issued by the Trump administration.

DiGenova told "American Agenda" he's "delighted" former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta no longer has a security clearance, and he's awaiting former FBI Directors James Comey and Christopher Wray to have their security clearances revoked as well.

Toensing explained that by cutting off government officials' access to security clearances, their value to private contractors would go down.

Security clearances are "the coin of the realm," Toensing joked. "People make money off of having their clearances and that's why they want it. And that's why it's being taken away."

"And they make money," diGenova added, "by going on the boards of defense contractors and think tanks that do intelligence research."
