Rep. Nancy Mace, one of the House Oversight Committee members who reviewed the FBI's document alleging President Joe Biden's involvement in a bribery scheme, told Newsmax Friday that given the additional evidence concerning the president's family, there is no reason not to investigate to the claims "to the fullest extent of the law."

"We all saw the emails and the texts where Hunter Biden was complaining that he had to give half his salary to his father," the South Carolina Republican said on Newsmax's "John Bachman Now." "This document talks about a $10 million bribery scheme split between two halves, one half to Hunter Biden and the other half to Joe Biden. Where there's smoke, there's fire."

The FBI on Thursday turned over an unclassified FD-1023 document to the House Oversight Committee. The document details allegations that an executive from the Ukraine natural gas firm Burisma Holdings, which had employed Hunter Biden, allegedly paid then-Vice President Biden $5 million in a bribery scheme, according to reports.

"Joe Biden thought this was a joke yesterday," Mace said. "This is not a joke, and we're going to follow the facts wherever they lead us. And if his DOJ and FBI won't do their jobs, we're going to do their jobs for them."

She added that there was "no way" Hunter Biden would have been hired without his father's involvement.

"They weren't hiring Hunter Biden," she said. "It was very clear in the documents that we saw yesterday. This was credible information, legitimate information. To answer the president's question, 'Where's the money?' It's in his bank account. It's in the dozens and dozens of shell companies that he and his family created to hide the source of the funding, the source of the income, and where it was going."

Mace added that she wants to ask Biden why he signed an executive order on his first day in office to make it more difficult for members of Congress to get hold of suspicious bank activity reports.

"In years past, Congress would have access to any suspicious activity reports," said Mace. "[Biden] tried to ban us from doing that. Luckily we got access to them, but now we have to go back to Treasury. I want to go back and re-review those reports. I want to re-review the bank records.

"There are more bank records that we need to subpoena and we're going to follow the money. Mr. President, we're going to find out exactly where it is."
