Republican congressional candidate Rob Bresnahan, running to unseat Democrat Rep. Matt Cartwright in Pennsylvania's 8th Congressional District, voiced his determination to maintain a Republican majority in the House on Newsmax Saturday.
With the election nearing, Bresnahan told "America Right Now" the district's energy is "off the charts" and said he and his team are working tirelessly from Lackawanna County GOP headquarters.
"Our goal is to work through 8 p.m. on Election Day," he said.
"There are 9,000 mail-in Republican ballots that have yet to be returned, and it's going to be a full-court press," he added, pointing out that President Joe Biden's visit to Scranton, within the district, has not deterred his team's enthusiasm.
Contrasting himself with Cartwright, Bresnahan described his opponent as a "progressive liberal," criticizing Cartwright's votes on key issues.
"This is a guy ... suggesting that he's for the border wall when he voted against that funding seven separate times," Bresnahan said.
He also said Cartwright voted against gas-powered vehicles and voted for former President Donald Trump impeachments, arguing that his votes did not align with the values of northeastern Pennsylvania voters.
