President Joe Biden's entangled foreign interests risk national security, Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., who was one of the first to report about the story, told Newsmax on Tuesday.

Appearing on "Rob Schmitt Tonight," Johnson suggested although many other countries might know about Biden's finances, the U.S. might know the least. Thus, a forensic audit of the president should be performed.

While acknowledging that Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., chair of the House Oversight Committee, is doing a "great job" investigating the president, Johnson said a $200,000 check, paid to the president from his brother James, who, on the same day, received money for the same amount from a company called Americore, "is just the tip of the iceberg."

But, Johnson added, amid a stockpile of evidence, "what remains missing is a complete forensic audit of Joe Biden's bank accounts."

"Do we even know how many bank accounts he has?" Johnson said. "Are they all located in the U.S.? Are some located overseas?"

Johnson's call for a forensic audit stems from years of him and Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, investigating the president. And now, most recently, Comer's probe.

On Friday, the House Oversight Committee released a report that showed James Biden received $600,000 in loans from Americore in 2018. Americore was a financially distressed and failing rural hospital operator. Bankruptcy court documents showed that James Biden received loans under the pretense that his last name could leverage his connections for a large investment from the Middle East.

"On March 1, 2018," according to the report, "Americore wired a $200,000 loan into James and Sara Biden's personal bank account — not their business bank account. On the same day, James Biden wrote a $200,000 check from this same personal bank account to Joe Biden."

Johnson added, "We may not know where all these financial transactions occurred. But I'll tell you who probably does know: Chinese intelligence, Russian intelligence, North Korean intelligence, Iranian intelligence. And that's why President Biden is so compromised and why it does threaten our national security."
