Iowa Republican Rep. Ashley Hinson told Newsmax that her new bill, the Southern Border Transparency Act, is common sense because it would show the "real" number of migrants crossing into the United States.

Speaking with "American Agenda," Hinson said, "Everywhere I go in my district, I continue to hear about the failures at the southern border and the objection to catch and release.

"So all we're simply asking them to do is give us the real numbers on how many people they're releasing into the interior, how many people the Biden administration is losing track of because it is a safety and security issue for Iowans and Americans."

According to The New York Times, during a visit to Mexico City, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told the Mexican news media, "From day one, this administration has made clear that a border wall is not the answer. That remains our position, and our position has never wavered."
